- Veterinary college's Jennifer Barrett honored with 2017 Zoetis Award for Research Excellence Established in 1985 as the Pfizer Award for Research Excellence, the Zoetis award seeks to “foster innovative research, on which the scientific advancement of the profession depends, by recognizing outstanding research effort and productivity.”
- Michael Erskine named Jean Ellen Shehan Professor and Director Michael Erskine, of Woodbine, Maryland, who has served as director of Virginia Tech’s Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg since 2013, was recently named the Jean Ellen Shehan Professor and Director of the center by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.
- Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center honors Cindy Ingram with Distinguished Service Award The award is the highest honor at the EMC. Ingram has been an active member of the center's Advisory Council since 2001 and previously served as co-chair of Virginia Tech’s Women in Leadership and Philanthropy Council.
